How it works

Ignite and UConn Gives use crowdfunding to help groups reach their network and raise money for what matters the most to them. Each participating group determines what their funds will be used for and works throughout the program to solicit donations from their peers, family, alumni and the UConn community.

The participating groups create their own giving pages where they direct donors to read more about their cause and encourage them to make a gift. Our crowdfunding programs have support from professionals at the UConn Foundation while maintaining the ease of other crowdfunding platforms.

 

Ignite

Since 2014, Ignite has been a great tool for students to raise money for the cause that means the most to them. Whether it be for equipment for your student group or a special interest project, Ignite supports students through online giving. Participation in Ignite gives students the autonomy to create a better UConn on their own. Students supporting students.

Throughout the years we have expanded our efforts with Ignite Law and Ignite Club Sports.

After applying, teams will attend a mandatory training to learn more about the program.

UConn Gives

UConn Gives is a way for UConn Nation to show its strength, pride, and spirit by supporting the University we love. For 36 hours, UConn Nation will come together to celebrate our accomplishments and lift up our passions. Groups across all five campuses will connect with their supporters around the world to raise funds for the programs and causes important to them.

The possibilities are endless. Whether it’s a school, college, department, club, student group, or research area, give to what’s most important to you.

To participate in UConn Gives, groups must be lead by a professional staff or faculty member. All student groups will be referred to the Ignite program.

UConn Gives typically takes place each spring.
