John Martin (left), president of the UConn Foundation, presents Mark Shenkman '65 (right) a Leader of the Pack award at the Huskies on Wall Street reception held at the University Club in New York City on May 1. The event brought together nearly 100 alumni and friends of UConn. Awards were presented to 18 alumni in recognition of their commitment to the University. A panel discussion on the convergence of hedge funds and private equity was led by Sheldon Kasowitz '83, co-founder andmanaging partner at Indus Capital Partners; Peter W. Jenkins'80, senior vice president of the Institutional Client Group at NYSE; and Peter A. Schaffer M.B.A. '98, chief risk officer at Avenue Capital Group. The event was hosted by the UConn Foundation, Kasowitz, Deutsche Bank and Daniel Toscano '87, managing partner and group head at Deutsche Bank Securities.
