Our Story

1962

The UConn Foundation was founded by UConn President Homer Babbidge in 1962. It was established to support and promote the educational, scientific, cultural, research, and recreational objectives of the University of Connecticut.

2015

In March 2015, the UConn Alumni Association Board of Directors voted to merge the UConn Foundation and the UConn Alumni Association in order to strengthen the University’s relationship with its many alumni. Both had always served to engage with alumni, donors, fans, and friends of UConn in order to ensure the University’s continued success.

As a result of the merger, the dues-based Alumni Association membership model was abolished and all UConn graduates are part of the UConn Alumni family. In addition, expanded programming and services are making it easier than ever before for alumni to engage with the University and UConn Nation.
