Avery Point is the location of the Northeast Underwater Research, Education & Technology Center (NURTEC), the Connecticut Sea Grant College Program, and the Institute for Community Resiliency and Climate Adaptation, a collaborative effort designed to increase sustainability for vulnerable shoreline communities in Connecticut.
