Thank you For making a difference at UConn

I salute medical professionals. We can never forget their sacrifices, commitment and dedication for the well-being of society. A big thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and health care professionals. I hope we all can flatten the curve by social distancing.

-Nagasekhar Kothakota, supporter of the UConn Health COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund and a first-time donor to UConn

We feel strongly about using our resources to support UConn because it had such a positive impact on our lives. We both graduated with business degrees that prepared us very well for the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead in the working world. And, most importantly, we met at UConn in 1991 and have been happily married since 1994!

-Jeff Strole ’93 (BUS) and Jo-Ellen Strole ’92 (BUS), donors to the Students First Fund

I gave to the UConn Health COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund because I appreciate and want to thank all the health care professionals and essential workers at UConn Health who are helping our community during this crisis. It’s a trying time for everybody right now. I just want to help the people who are helping everyone.

-Emily Leibin Ko, communications designer for UConn Library, UConn Health grateful patient, and donor to the UConn Health COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund

For me, giving back to UConn has always felt really natural because, in addition to my four years as a student there, UConn has continued to give so much to me these last 25 years. It has given me a sense of belonging to something bigger than myself and a desire to provide for the greater good. Success in life (for me at least) has been the ability to help other people.

How You Can Help Huskies

Support Those on the Front Line

Help Students in Need

The Students First Fund helps UConn provide items to meet students’ needs following unforeseen circumstances or unanticipated hardships, such as illness, a death in the family, loss of employment, fire, flood, and other misfortunes. Your gift will be used to help ease the burden they may experience by paying expenses for transportation, books, clothing, gift certificates for grocery stores, and other convenience measures appropriate at times of loss.
