What’s important is that your note is authentic to your voice and experience. We ask that your entire note be a minimum of 200 words in length.

    • Introduce yourself. State the purpose of the letter and the scholarship(s) by name.
    • What does scholarship support mean to you and your family?
    • What opportunities has it allowed you to take advantage of?
    • Why did you select your area of study? How does it fit in to your future plans and career goals?
    • What professor/course has had the most impact on you?
    • Describe any internship, research project, or work experience opportunities you've been involved in or hope to participate in.
    • What student organizations, sports, and/or community service have you been involved in or hope to participate in?
    • What do you love most about UConn?

If you would prefer to take your time writing your letter, you can use a separate program and copy/paste your finished message into the box below.
  • We encourage you to submit a photo to add personalization to your message. To ensure the best possible photo print quality, we recommend a color photo in .jpg file format (300 dpi resolution), with an uncluttered background.
