The UConn Foundation works in service of The University of Connecticut by stewarding, growing, and disbursing endowed funds for student scholarships, and academic and medical missions. The UConn Foundation’s sole purpose is to support UConn and UConn Health to advance their educational, scientific, cultural and research missions.
The University of Connecticut is enjoying a time of great momentum: record-setting applications, a prestigious designation as a Carnegie Research 1 Institution, consistent medical and scientific breakthroughs, and back-to-back men’s basketball NCAA titles.
Guided by a new strategic plan, Connecticut’s flagship land grant university’s goal is to move the world forward by building on our four pillars for UConn’s future success: Students First, Academic & Innovation Excellence, Health & Wellness of People & Planet and Husky Pride.
The UConn Foundation’s ambitious new and historic campaign highlights these pillars and will support UConn’s growth trajectory through the power of philanthropy, helping Connecticut and the world thrive. The Foundation is a university-affiliated nonprofit organization proud to serve our full community.

Our People
The UConn Foundation is made up of a team of hardworking professionals dedicated to advancing UConn’s status as a world-class national public research university.
How is the UConn Foundation Similar to Other Foundations?
The UConn Foundation, like other institutionally related foundations, exists solely to promote the educational, research, and outreach missions of the university it serves. Foundations solicit, receive, and administer private gifts and financial resources that provide additional support beyond the university’s state appropriations, revenue, and grant income.
The Relationship Between UConn and the UConn Foundation
The University of Connecticut and the UConn Foundation have a fee-for-service arrangement under the terms of an annual operating agreement. The agreement stipulates that the UConn Foundation will conduct private fundraising on behalf of the University of Connecticut. This is a longstanding practice at the University of Connecticut and most other major public universities. It is also fully consistent with Connecticut statutes governing the proper University-Foundation relationship.
