Welcome to the Alumni Admissions Program

Alumni are UConn’s best ambassadors. No one knows what it is like to be a Husky better than you. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Philadelphia Area, or Washington, D.C., this is your chance to help recruit and welcome future students to UConn Nation. This exciting opportunity is brought to you by a collaboration between UConn’s Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

How can you help?

Volunteers in the Alumni Admissions Program are involved in the admissions efforts in a variety of ways, including attending College Fairs, Admitted Student Receptions or sharing their personal story with admitted students through email, phone, or postcard. Alumni Admissions Volunteers are a valuable resource who provide a personalized, one-on-one interaction with students.

College Fairs

UConn attends college fairs across the United States, generally from August until May. You can represent our University at these events—and help our admissions staff increase UConn’s visibility across the region.

Admitted Student Receptions

Admitted students are invited to join Admissions, Financial Aid, and University professionals to be welcomed and congratulated on their achievement. Alumni are invited to attend to speak with admitted students and their families to provide input on their personal experiences with the University. These receptions are typically held from February until May.

Pay it forward and help us provide a personal approach from UConn to the students in your community. You can begin by filling out our form to tell us a little about you. A staff member will follow up with you to discuss available opportunities. In addition, you will be set up with an online training resource to prepare you for the volunteer position.
